Maple will pull moisture out to keep your bar dry, therefore extending the life of your soap. Maple is a very hard wood that will not stain your tub or shower. The grooves allow air to circulate under large bars. When your bar reaches approx 1/2″ thick: place it vertically in the widest groove. As your bar gets thinner, move it along to the last groove. You will be able to use you bar to just a sliver!
